Wine Winch (WW)

Wine Winch is an electric powered wine uncorking machine which came from an idea of using of a nautical winch to facilitate the uncorking of wine bottles. This idea was perceived by a man who started his quest to better the wine drinker’s experience many years ago. With this innovative idea, Franmara Inc., one of the largest distributors of wine accessories in the world approached us to start up the WW project.

During the product development process, different ideas for the engineering structure came up and many research and experiment were done. At first, a full-automatic machine was considered. After thorough assessment and research, we have determined to develop a semi- automatic model instead to minimize the cost and optimize the yield. Not only the product appearance, we also took care of internal elements such as IC design. From outside to inside and physical appearance to mechanical & electric parts, we covered them all.

With the efforts of integrating across different industries and factories, developing molds, testing and creating parts and tooling required, the final prototype was completed and mass production began. (The marketing compaign was launched successful in the International Boat Show in the United States.)
